As we make our way into 2025, our taste for home continues to evolve. I think that 2025 will bring a mix of vibrant patterns, timeless materials, and inviting spaces that make every home welcoming and unique. Here are my top five pick for interior design trends of 2025:
1. Colorful Spaces Filled with Pattern
Forget playing it safe with neutrals. In 2025, we're embracing bold, colorful patterns that infuse our homes with personality. Think large-scale prints, handmade tiles, and rich textures that energize any space.
2. Antiques Add Character & Depth
Antiques are back... (but I don't think they ever left!) As you know, they're a cornerstone of my design philosophy. Each piece has a rich history, adding layers of depth that complement modern interiors. Whether it’s an Italian cabinet or a Louis Philippe mirror, each antique tells its own story. By blending these antique treasures with contemporary elements, we can create design that's both stylish, meaningful, and sustainable!
3. Cozy, Welcoming Spaces
This year "coziness" is evolving past soft throws and cushions, into the strategic use of colors, furniture, and textures to create a welcoming environment. Warm colors like oxblood, rich browns, and natural greens create a comforting atmosphere, while comfortable furniture and lush fabrics make every space feel welcoming. Every element should be thoughtfully selected to make your space inviting.
4. Nickel Finishes
I envision that we will shift away from the warm tones of (amazing!) unlacquered brass, with nickel finishes taking center stage. Nickel provides a cooler, but still very warm tone, that feels both modern and timeless. It’s the perfect complement to any color palettes, as it can pick up both gold and silver hues.
5. Transitional Style
I think that transitional style will continue to thrive in 2025, as it beautifully blends elements from different design periods. Imagine antique furniture paired with luxurious wallpapers and sleek contemporary lighting. This approach allows for a curated look that is fresh, true to your style, and exciting.
These trends reflect a movement towards more personalized, character-filled homes. Whether you're renovating an entire home or refreshing one room, these trends allow you to express your unique style and create spaces that feel genuinely yours.
